AI Visibility IndexBest AI Email Assistants (2026)
Independent ranking for the data week of 3 November 2026. About 15 companies. Composite scores use listicle consensus at 60% and review standing at 40%. AI-answer presence is omitted in v1. Refreshed monthly.
What this board measures
Seven pages were stored. Zapier is the independent anchor. The other URLs are product blogs that still name competitors: Alfred, Inbox Zero, Lindy, Saleshandy, Read AI, and Arahi. Treat the mention counts as consensus inside that mix, not as seven separate magazine tests. Saleshandy and Arahi are in the source list even though they are not rows on the board.
Gmail Gemini and Superhuman are both on 7 of 7 pages. Gmail Gemini publishes at 98 (built-in drafting and summaries, native Google Workspace AI). Superhuman publishes at 95 (fast keyboard-driven inbox with AI drafting and triage, a premium client with strong reviews). The 3-point gap is review standing. Microsoft Copilot for Outlook is 6 of 7 at 90 (Outlook-native summaries, drafts, and coaching). Shortwave is 6 of 7 at 80 (AI search and drafting layered on Gmail). Same mention count, lower review standing than Copilot.
Grammarly is 5 of 7 at 78. The blurb is writing help that works inside email clients, not a full mail client. SaneBox is 5 of 7 at 71 (long-running email filtering). Lindy is 4 of 7 at 57 (an AI agent builder with email agents). Inbox Zero is also 4 of 7 but at 52, so the gap versus Lindy is review standing. The note calls Inbox Zero an open-source AI email assistant. Missive is 3 of 7 at 54 (team inbox with AI).
Spark is the ambiguous-name row. The alias rule counts the mail client, not the ordinary word. Spark is 2 of 7 at 49, tied on score with Fyxer (3 of 7 at 49), which means Fyxer's extra listicle hit and Spark's review standing land on the same rounded composite. Fyxer's note is an AI inbox organizer. Canary Mail is 2 of 7 at 41. Alfred is 2 of 7 at 35 (AI executive assistant for email) even though an Alfred blog is one of the sources. Read AI is 1 of 7 at 36 (meeting and email AI). Clean Email is the zero-mention row, score 23, recorded as inbox cleanup. That score is review standing only.
Scores run from 23 to 98. 2 of 15 companies are named on every usable listicle page in their row. Top 3 by published rank: Gmail Gemini, Superhuman, Microsoft Copilot for Outlook.
1 company on this board has zero listicle mentions in the usable scrapes: Clean Email. Their published scores come from the review-standing pillar only.

Ranked board
Score is the published 0 to 100 composite. Listicle mentions are the count of usable scraped best-of pages that name the company, over the denominator stored on that row. The review note is the qualitative mapping recorded with the row. It is not a star rating and it is not an AI mention rate.

Why the top 5 rank here
These five notes expand the blurbs and the mention counts from the table. They do not add benchmark scores or AI-answer percentages. The arithmetic uses only the published mention count, the row denominator, and the published composite.
1. Gmail Gemini (score 98)
Gmail Gemini is named on every usable listicle in this sample (7 of 7, 100%). Built-in drafting and summaries for Gmail users. Review note recorded for this row: Native Google Workspace AI.
Listicle share for this row is 7 divided by 7. At a 60% weight that share contributes 60 points before rounding. The published composite is 98. The rest of the score is the review-standing pillar (40%) after rounding. When the next row has the same mention fraction, that gap is review standing, not a hidden extra listicle. When the next row has fewer mentions, roundup consensus is the larger part of the gap. Neither gap is a product lab result, and this page does not assign Gmail Gemini a percentage of AI answers.
2. Superhuman (score 95)
Superhuman is named on every usable listicle in this sample (7 of 7, 100%). Fast keyboard-driven inbox with AI drafting and triage. Review note recorded for this row: Premium AI email client; strong reviews.
Listicle share for this row is 7 divided by 7. At a 60% weight that share contributes 60 points before rounding. The published composite is 95. The rest of the score is the review-standing pillar (40%) after rounding. When the next row has the same mention fraction, that gap is review standing, not a hidden extra listicle. When the next row has fewer mentions, roundup consensus is the larger part of the gap. Neither gap is a product lab result, and this page does not assign Superhuman a percentage of AI answers.
3. Microsoft Copilot for Outlook (score 90)
Microsoft Copilot for Outlook is named on 6 of 7 usable listicles (85.7% of the sample). Outlook-native summaries, drafts, and coaching. Review note recorded for this row: Native Microsoft 365 AI.
Listicle share for this row is 6 divided by 7. At a 60% weight that share contributes 51.4 points before rounding. The published composite is 90. The rest of the score is the review-standing pillar (40%) after rounding. When the next row has the same mention fraction, that gap is review standing, not a hidden extra listicle. When the next row has fewer mentions, roundup consensus is the larger part of the gap. Neither gap is a product lab result, and this page does not assign Microsoft Copilot for Outlook a percentage of AI answers.
4. Shortwave (score 80)
Shortwave is named on 6 of 7 usable listicles (85.7% of the sample). AI search and drafting layered on Gmail. Review note recorded for this row: AI-native Gmail client.
Listicle share for this row is 6 divided by 7. At a 60% weight that share contributes 51.4 points before rounding. The published composite is 80. The rest of the score is the review-standing pillar (40%) after rounding. When the next row has the same mention fraction, that gap is review standing, not a hidden extra listicle. When the next row has fewer mentions, roundup consensus is the larger part of the gap. Neither gap is a product lab result, and this page does not assign Shortwave a percentage of AI answers.
5. Grammarly (score 78)
Grammarly is named on 5 of 7 usable listicles (71.4% of the sample). Writing help that works inside email clients. Review note recorded for this row: Writing assistant used in email.
Listicle share for this row is 5 divided by 7. At a 60% weight that share contributes 42.9 points before rounding. The published composite is 78. The rest of the score is the review-standing pillar (40%) after rounding. When the next row has the same mention fraction, that gap is review standing, not a hidden extra listicle. When the next row has fewer mentions, roundup consensus is the larger part of the gap. Neither gap is a product lab result, and this page does not assign Grammarly a percentage of AI answers.
The rest of the board
Ranks 6 through 15 use the same v1 composite: 60% listicle consensus and 40% review standing. That number is not a percentage of answers inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews. Some of these rows are still named on every usable page, so a gap versus the top is review standing. Others are named on fewer pages, or on none. A narrower buyer can still prefer a lower row. The blurb is the note recorded with the dataset. The mention fraction is what this scrape counted.
6. SaneBox (score 71)
SaneBox is named on 5 of 7 usable listicles (71.4% of the sample). Filters low-priority email out of the main inbox. Review note recorded for this row: Long-running email filtering.
7. Lindy (score 57)
Lindy is named on 4 of 7 usable listicles (57.1% of the sample). Custom AI agents that handle email workflows. Review note recorded for this row: AI agent builder with email agents.
8. Missive (score 54)
Missive is named on 3 of 7 usable listicles (42.9% of the sample). Shared team inbox with AI drafting. Review note recorded for this row: Team inbox with AI.
9. Inbox Zero (score 52)
Inbox Zero is named on 4 of 7 usable listicles (57.1% of the sample). Open-source triage and auto-reply rules. Review note recorded for this row: Open-source AI email assistant.
10. Fyxer (score 49)
Fyxer is named on 3 of 7 usable listicles (42.9% of the sample). Auto-sorts email and drafts replies in your voice. Review note recorded for this row: AI inbox organizer.
11. Spark (score 49)
Spark is named on 2 of 7 usable listicles (28.6% of the sample). Cross-platform mail app with AI writing tools. Review note recorded for this row: Popular mail client with AI.
12. Canary Mail (score 41)
Canary Mail is named on 2 of 7 usable listicles (28.6% of the sample). Secure mail app with AI copilots. Review note recorded for this row: AI mail client.
13. Read AI (score 36)
Read AI is named on 1 of 7 usable listicles (14.3% of the sample). Summaries across meetings and email. Review note recorded for this row: Meeting + email AI.
14. Alfred (score 35)
Alfred is named on 2 of 7 usable listicles (28.6% of the sample). Daily briefs and AI triage for busy operators. Review note recorded for this row: AI executive assistant for email.
15. Clean Email (score 23)
Clean Email is named on none of the 7 usable listicles in this sample. The published score of 23 is the review-standing portion of the formula, because the listicle share is zero. That is thin roundup coverage in this scrape. It is not an AI-answer rate and it is not a lab test of product quality. Bulk cleanup and unsubscribe tools. Review note recorded for this row: Inbox cleanup.
How to read this score
Composite score is an integer from 0 to 100.
- Listicle consensus (60%). Share of scraped best-of pages that name the company. listicle_score = 100 times (mentions divided by the row denominator). Vendor pages that are mostly self-promotional were avoided when stronger independent sources existed. Some vendor-authored roundups remain when they still name competitors and showed up in the open results. Where this board's source list is mostly vendor blogs, that limit is stated in the opening section.
- Review standing (40%). Public G2 category footprint and well-known editorial reviews, mapped to documented bands: leader_high 95, leader 88, high 80, solid 70, moderate 58, emerging 45, thin 32, and na 40 when there is no clear category-page signal. Bands are qualitative. They are not scraped star averages.
- AI-answer presence. Omitted in v1. No raw ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Overview answers were captured and saved for this release. This page refuses invented weekly AI percentages. A later refresh can add the pillar only after those answers are stored, and the weights will be republished.
composite = round(0.6 times listicle_score + 0.4 times review_score).
Every company row on this board uses a listicle denominator of 7. That is the count of usable scraped pages stored with the row. The scoring record matches that denominator. Source URL count for this board is 7.
Spark on this board is the mail client. The qualified-alias rule matches Spark Mail (or an equivalent product name), not the ordinary word spark. The same rule on the hub covers Current, Close, Spark, Found, Discover, Fold, Mesh, and monday.
The planned citation-surface pillar (a later 15% weight) is also deferred. Until weights change, do not compare this board to a future version as if the formula were the same.
Limits that apply on every board: listicles disagree with each other, review sites lag the product, and brands with quiet public relations can be under-counted. A one-point gap is not statistically decisive.

Frequently asked questions
How is this Best AI Email Assistants ranking calculated?
Each company is scored from public 2026 best-of listicles and public review-platform standing such as G2 category pages. Listicle consensus is 60% of the score. Review standing is 40%. A listicle hit is a usable scraped page whose main content names the company or a documented alias. AI-answer presence is omitted in v1 until raw answers are captured and saved. This page does not publish a ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or AI Overview mention percentage.
How often is this board updated?
Monthly. This snapshot is the data week of 3 November 2026. The page was published on 5 November 2026. The methodology version is v1-listicle-review.
Why is a well-known brand missing or lower than expected?
Ranks follow documented listicle mentions and review standing in the sources on this page. A brand can be excellent and still rank lower if fewer scraped roundups name it, or if the public review evidence mapped for this category is thinner. Companies outside the roughly 15-name sample are not labeled bad. They fell outside this scrape.
Do you take payment for placement?
No. There are no paid placements on this index. Austin Heaton may advise listed or unlisted companies. An advisory relationship does not change scores.
How can my company improve its position?
Publish a clear page for the category buyers search, earn mentions in independent roundups, and strengthen the public review profiles those roundups and buyers already check. Build pages that AI systems can cite once answer tracking is added. Book a Call if you want a category audit. This board will not move a row because someone asked.
Does a one-point gap mean one product is better?
No. Listicles disagree, review sites lag, and a brand with quieter public relations can be under-counted. The composite is rounded. A one-point gap is not a decisive quality result.
